Privacy

How we use the information you give us through this website. Last updated November 2026.

Who we are

This website is run by Bishop's Stortford Running Club (including our triathlon section, Stortford Tri), c/o Hockerill Sports & Social Club, Beldams Lane, Bishop's Stortford CM23 5LG. The club is responsible for the information you send us through the site. To ask about anything on this page, use the contact form.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us:

The website doesn't ask you to create an account, and it doesn't use analytics or advertising trackers.

How we use it

We use this information because you have asked us to respond or to record your result (our legitimate interest in running the club). We don't sell it or use it for marketing.

Who handles it for us

Membership, bookings and event sign-ups happen on myclubhouse, not on this website, and are covered by the club's membership privacy information there.

How long we keep it

We keep form messages only as long as we need to deal with them. Race results become part of the club's published results history.

Cookies and embedded content

This website does not set any cookies of its own, and doesn't use analytics or advertising trackers.

Some pages show maps from Google Maps and route maps from Strava, which set their own cookies. These only load if you choose Accept on the cookie banner; if you choose Reject, the site works as normal and those maps stay hidden. Your choice is remembered in your browser (not as a cookie), and you can change it at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Google's and Strava's own privacy policies apply to their content.

The championship standings page shows the club's own standings app, which is run separately from this website and doesn't set cookies.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Use the contact form and we'll respond within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
