Winter Cross Country League

For many years the Club has taken part in our local cross country league through the winter

Our local cross country league is a four race league held on Sunday mornings during the winter between Bishop’s Stortford Running Club, Harlow Running Club, Saffron Striders and Ware Joggers.

The races are approximately 5 miles and are open to all Club members – we do not pick teams, but encourage as many Club members along as possible. These races are free and do not require any pre-registration, and the minimum age for participation is 17.

All runners must however wear a club vest, and if you need to purchase one please contact kit@bsrc.org.uk.  Studded trail shoes are recommended but not compulsory – see individual race notes or speak to members who have raced before for details.

Runners score points based on their finishing position.   The scoring system for is based on the first 8 men (including 3 vets) and 8 ladies (including 2 vets) per club.

But it’s not just the scoring runners who are important! Subsequent BSRC runners will have the effect of increasing the score of other teams who have not reached their full complement of scoring runners.

League points are awarded to the Club based on the aggregate score across the men’s and ladies’ results.

Refreshments are supplied at the end of every race by the host club (a £1 per person contribution towards costs is requested), and the team results are announced on the day.
