When do we run?

The Club meets at the clubhouse in Beldams Lane every Wednesday evening. The clubhouse is open from 19:00 with Chair notices are given out prior to runners heading out at 19:15. This is the session that we recommend any new or propsective members to come along to. Everyone is welcome regardless of ability, from beginners to regular runners. If you are looking to come to the club for the first time, and you can’t make it along on a Wednesday, then please get in touch via the Contact Us page.

Any new runners are paired up with a running buddy or suitable group to take them round one of our regular routes. Runs vary in length between 3 and 10 miles depending on what people are training for. From April to August, the nearby Hatfield Forest is put to good use with runs typically ranging from 6-9 miles. From September through to March, Wednesday night runs head through and around Bishop’s Stortford. Most people are finished running by 21:00.

The clubhouse has showers and a bar, and food is provided after the run (food is bookable a few days in advance via myclubhouse) and most runners stay for a drink and chat with fellow runners.

We have a top quality attending sports therapist, who is available at the club most Wednesdays at favourable rates to club members.

We also run two coached interval sessions every week at the Clubhouse:

  • Tuesday evenings at 19:15
  • Saturday mornings at 10:15

There are also track sessions held on Friday evenings on an ad-hoc basis. More details about coached sessions can be found here.

With a strong Triathlon and Multisport section in the Club we also have swimming and biking training sessions every week which are open to all BSRC members. Visit stortfordtri.org.uk or more information.
