About the club

Bishop’s Stortford Running Club is a community of several hundred passionate runners located in Bishop’s Stortford and the surrounding area. We welcome runners of all abilities, from complete beginners to seasoned marathon runners, and offer a variety of training sessions and social events to suit everyone’s needs.

Whether you’re looking to improve your fitness, train for a race, or simply meet new people who share your love of running, Bishop’s Stortford Running Club has something to offer. With a friendly and supportive atmosphere, experienced coaches, and a range of activities for all ages, the club is a fantastic place to get involved in the local running community and achieve your goals.

The club provides coaching and racing, both on-road and off-road, from 5km to marathons to ultras, and also has a strong multi-sport section (Stortford Tri) for those interested in triathlon, duathlon, swimming and biking.

Founded in 1983 the club celebrated its 40th anniversary last year. You can learn about the clubs history here

Our aim was then, and still remains, to help each other achieve whatever goals and targets (great or small) that we set for ourselves. And most importantly, never forgetting that running is for fun and exists to be enjoyed, either alone or with friends.

Where to find us

BSRC headquarters is at Hockerill Sports & Social Club on Beldams Lane off the A1060 Hallingbury Road.

This position gives our membership instant access to the rural surroundings in which the town is set, and many of our training runs take place through the Hertfordshire and Essex countryside and in particular towards nearby Hatfield Forest.
